Kalonzo declines to be sworn-in

Breaking news

Mr Musyoka described the oath taking ceremony widely reported as Jubilee trap.

The Wiper Party leader noted that the event would be against the law without proper legal consultation.

He, however, mentioned that the swearing-in will take place at a latter date.

"We are conducting a serious audit on what is happening in the country and are consulting with Nasa. We are focusing on the fight," he said.

Earlier, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana revealed that the NASA leaders had not agreed on the wordings and administration of the oath, something he said caused Mr Kalonzo to skip the January 30 ceremony.

While defending Musyoka who has been sharply criticised for snubbing the event meant to swear him as Odinga’s Deputy, Mr. Kibwana highlighted that the Wiper Party leader was to hold deliberations with other co-principals before proceeding to Uhuru Park.

“NASA leaders were still deliberating on the oath wording and how it would be administered but they were unable to meet to resolve the issue for fear of being nabbed,” Kibwana said during an interview on Musyi FM.
