Protest as Wetangula represents Kenya in Hong Kong

Kenyans on Monday took to social media to protest Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula’s representation of the country at the International Anti-corruption conference currently being held in Hong Kong.

The revelation was made by nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, who is also part of the delegation representing Kenya – alongside MPs Millie Odhiambo, Chris Wamalwa and Shakeel Shabir.

Moses Wetangula linked to Fake Gold Scam

The development did not augur well with Kenyan netizens given that it came at a time when Wetangula is under investigation over the fake gold scam where members of the Dubai royal family lost at least Sh400 million.

China is known for production of fake product, who knows weta ameenda kutafuta another fake gold? In fear of sheikh fake waxing threat,” Ahmed Bashir opined.

Netizens threaten to give up Wetangula's Location

Others who commented cheekily threatened to give the Senator’s location to the ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is reported to have demanded for his gold from the Kenyan government.

Giving Wetangula free air ticket and a dinner for 2 in Dubai......Weta claim your present by liking,” Baba Ace commented.

It is not clear the exact role the Bungoma Senator played in the gold scam as his aides said he was a victim of a business deal gone wrong.

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, however, has recently said that his detectives were looking forward to interrogate Wetangula to establish the facts of the matter.
