Pwani student stabbed by ex-boyfriend reveals why she left him

I had moved on

Entrance to Pwani University

Pwani University student Naomi Chepkemboi on Monday revealed that she dumped her boyfriend Henry Kipkoech last year because he was not a responsible man.

Chepkemboi stated that she ended the 2-year relationship in December 2018 and informed the ex-boyfriend that she had moved on.

She further noted that the man never looked after their 4-month daughter.

“When I told him that I have moved on, he couldn’t believe it. I terminated my relationship with him because he wasn’t a responsible man.

“His parents helped me and the baby for only two months. After much thought, I saw it unwise to stick with him yet he wasn’t looking after his child.

“He was the type of a man who would forcefully take my money, when he found me in possession of some cash,” remarked Chepkemboi.

Kipkoech was arraigned in a Kilifi court and was to remain in police custody for eight extra days to facilitate investigations into the incident.

Chepkemboi returns Sh3,200

The criminal, was reported to have attacked the victim after she returned Sh3,200 that had been sent by him in order to take care of the child.

The suspect had travelled from Nairobi to Mombasa to demand an explanation from the third-year public health major for giving back the money.

Chepkemboi who had been stabbed severally on the chest and neck, had been rushed to Kilifi Hospital.
