The President who jetted into Kisumu International Airport on Saturday morning was received by the former premier before the pair made their way to Koru for the event.
A funeral service for the deceased is currently underway for the deceased AT Dr. Robert Ouko Primary School in Koru.
The president met the deceased at Nairobi’s St Marys School where the pair struck a life-long friendship.
Odhiambo played an important role in the growth of Kenya’s entertainment industry, nurturing some of the country’s most talented usician and giving them a platform to share their talent with the world through his Johari Clef records where he served as a producer.
He also served as Youth Fund Chairman between 2014 and 2016.
Odhiambo passed on while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit after his blood pressure dropped significantly.
In October last year, Odhiambo had been flown to India to replace his pacemaker. This is an electrical device implanted under the skin to help manage irregular heartbeats.
In 2014, President Uhuru Kenyatta picked Odhiambo to chair the Youth Fund's board after revoking the appointment of Mr Evans Semelang’o before the former resigned two years later over graft allegations at the Board.
