Noticing the tension, police escorted Mr Kimani out of the baraza (public meeting) with residents expressing their disappointment with the MP.

On his part, Kimani maintained that he was not drunk during the meeting and claimed that his political opponents were responsible for that narrative.

"l usually drink, but honestly, I could not be drunk on Thursday evening. That is a lie advanced by my competitors. I am a father and a respected leader. I cannot do that,” the Molo MP said.
