What killed reformed street boy Patrick Hinga.

Former street boy and drug addict Patrick Hinga died of stomach complications, according to his friend Wanja Mwaura.

According to Wanja, Hinga died suddenly after complaining of stomach pains.

“According to the mother, Hinga was doing fine and he did his best to remain the man we all helped him to be,” Ms Mwaura stated.

Stomach illness

Wanja stated that the stomach illness started on March 14 when Hinga left his mother's home to visit a friend in Kayole.

A post on Wanja's Facebook read: “Hinga left home and went to visit his friends in Kayole, upon reaching there he called his mom and complained of a stomach ache though not serious, he spent the night there and said he will be ok.”

She added: “On Saturday late night the problem persisted n that's when he decided to go to the hospital but by the time the mother got to him early morning yesterday (Sunday), he had already passed on.”

Rescue

Wanja rescued Hinga who was her classmate, from the claws of drug abuse after recognizing him in the streets where he was struggling with substance abuse.
