In the tweet, the DP seemed not be aware of the debate that will pit him and NASA Co-Principal Kalonzo Musyoka on July 17 at Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
"Just seen news alert that there will be a debate of running mates. Is it true?" read Ruto’s tweet.
The post elicited mixed reactions with a section of them seeing the humour in it and asking him to instead deal with the Cholera outbreak that was reported at his Weston hotel in June.
@aamj1100:You may skip this debate as we understand you have a more pressing issue of kioindupindu at your #westonhotel
@BetternChero:Concentrate on Cholera Outbreak at Weston Hotel.
@WaithakaMugo: There is a kipindupindu outbreak and you are here wondering about a running mate debate?? Lopsided priorities.... #busybodies
@ke_nyarotho: At this time we can only confirm the issue of running stomachs in GoK corridors
@sharon_donnah: Who else got cholera, I'm walking with a poop bucket, wangapi walikula Weston
@Kennedy19Daniel:At this rate DP kindly form a committee to investigate the Cholera outbreak in our country please.
The bashing did not stop there:
In as much many Kenyans asked where he was when the announcement was made, a number of them challenged him to go on and face the NASA running mate.
@silasjakakimba:Yes Sir: Kenyans need to hear ur Scorecard if any as they get to kearn what NASA has in store 2 Restore&Recover the lost ground tangu 9/4/13
@Kosgei:Hii ndio nafasi ya KULIMA Kalonzo!
@bryanlyond:You will destroy and rebuild Kalonzo in that debate
@ptooallandez:My deputy president. Even if it's not true. I just wish it was. You have to go floor Kalonzo and his mates. One man show
@medixafrica: Yes! I confirm. And time is right to prun the unripe watermelons.
