Several fatalities as 14-seater collides with trailer on Eldoret-Webuye highway

Authorities have confirmed eight deaths so far following a grisly road accident along the Eldoret-Webuye Highway on Sunday morning.

Preliminary reports indicated that a 14-seater matatu destined for Nairobi crashed into a stationary trailer at Musembe area in Kakamega County.

According to witnesses, the accident happened at 5:00 am leaving eight dead and several seriously injured.

Kakamega County Police Commander Hassan Barua and his team confirmed the accident adding that the victims had been transported to Webuye Hospital mortuary in Bungoma.
