Son to Mzalendo Saba Saba Asili Chairman George Gachungu Mwithi
Gathukia was the son of Mzalendo Saba Saba Asili national chairman George Gachungu Mwithi. The party was founded by the late Matiba.
Speaking to journalists, Mr Mwithi speculated that his son may have opted for suicide as a result of poor financial prudence.
Mwithi explained that his son was an alcoholic and he had refused to get a job that would support his lifestyle.
"It’s an unfortunate incident. I had tried to persuade him to resume working but he declined. Instead he used his pension to drink and he might have decided to commit suicide after using all the savings," he stated.
