Police officers on Thursday arrested three detectives at a road block in Limuru Kiambu who were escorting a lorry from Uganda.

The three identified as Daniel Rongei, Wycliffe Imbuga and Samson Mohenga, had demanded to be let through after they claimed that they had arrested the lorry and were taking it to Dagoretti police station.
The officers at the road block took the vehicle to Tigoni police station after they reported the matter to their boss.
A thorough search off the lorry revealed that it had been transporting illegal beer bearing a Ugandan label.
The officers stated that the alcohol consisted 109 crates of Guinness, 73 crates of Tusker Lager and 20 crates of Tusker Lite that had not been cleared by the KRA.
DCI detectives disarmed by ordinary officers
Last Monday, a similar incident occurred at a road block in Kitengela after ordinary officers apprehended DCI detectives who were transporting a lorry suspected to be carrying illegal ethanol to Nairobi.
Trouble ensued when the DCI officers were confronted by ordinary police officers and asked to hand over their guns.
Following the drama, the lorry was ordered to be taken to the Kitengela police station by the area OCS Silas Ringera.
Flying squad officers were later deployed to rescue the detectives and resolve the matter.
