President Kenyatta out to fire these CSs

President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to be tired of his Cabinet Secretaries who are busy politicking instead of focusing on his Big Four agenda.

On Thursday evening the Head of State was addressing residents at Kitengela town where he challenged his CSs to hand in their resignation if they can't stay away from politics.

We will not be fed by politics. We will be fed by our efforts and hard work that will improve the lives of all Kenyans,” said Kenyatta.

Today I held a Cabinet meeting and I told our Cabinet Secretaries that anyone who is not ready for service delivery they are free to leave because I have so many young Kenyans who are willing and ready to work,” he added.

Riot act

Reports also emerged that President Kenyatta read the riot act to the Ministers while addressing the first Cabinet meeting since he issued Executive Order Number 1 of 2019.

President Kenyatta is said to have told the CSs to work according to the Constitution as some of them seemed unhappy with his order to have Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i oversight on programmes across Government.

The Constitution prohibits the CSs from dabbling in politics.

Corruption

According to reports President Kenyatta reminded the Cabinet Secretaries that they were his appointees and those opposed to his orders would be fired.

During the Cabinet meeting, the Head of State reportedly advised the CS to have all the departments in their Ministries adhere to his Big Four agenda.

He further emphasized his commitment to fighting corruption and issued strict instructions to all CSs to ensure their ministries and departments adopt zero-tolerance for the vice.
