Foreigners arrested for filming a naked Kenyan woman

Two foreigners were arrested and arraigned in court after they were accused of stripping a woman naked and filming her.

German Zerbin Sascha Marius Waldermar and his Ukrainian friend Wectabe Shestavetskyi appeared before Principal Magistrate David Odhiambo to answer to the charges on Thursday.

The Shanzu Court heard that the two intentionally and unlawfully undressed a woman only identified by her initials, YMN and proceeded to take nude photos of her against her will.

The incident took place at the Kenya Medical Association Apartments in Mtwapa on January 17.

Online Dating

According to the charge sheet, YMN claimed to have met Marius in an online dating site where they later agreed to meet up.

She narrated that Marius and his friend invited her to their apartment where they had drinks and ate on the day of the incident.

"We spent the whole day swimming. In the evening, we proceeded to the apartment, they brought alcoholic drinks and food," she stated, adding that a struggle ensued when she asked to leave the apartment.

"You cannot leave just like that when you have eaten our food and drinks," one the suspect is reported to have said.

When she insisted to leave, the suspects allegedly stripped her and threw her clothes out of the apartment the one of the men held her down as the other took the compromising film and photos.

She managed to loose herself and reported that she found her phone and called the police.

The foreigners presented a letter to the court purporting to have obtained it from YNM asking the court to withdraw the suit.

The Magistrate was, however, not convinced that the letter was authentic and ordered a Sh100,000 cash bail for each suspect with their case to be mentioned on Friday.

They will also be charged with promoting pornography.
