Man said to be Senator Yussuf Haji brandishing a pistol during a public function (Twitter)

A video has emerged depicting a man who has been identified as Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji's father shooting in the air.

The video posted by popular blogger Robert Alai depicted Senator Yussuf Haji at a public function shooting in the air.

The Senator is called upon by a man on a podium after what seemed to be a prayer and he immediately begins to shoot in the air as some of the members of the crowd seem startled.

The man, yet to be confirmed as Senator Haji, fires his pistol three times to the amusement of some of those at the function.

The video sparked outrage from those who viewed it with many suggesting that it was against what he should be promoting as a member of the Building Bridges Initiative task force.
