During the 25th anniversary of Kenya’s first Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, family spokesman Oburu Odinga stated they were happy no see Rosemary had fully recovered.
He praised Rosemary as a true fighter in the spirit of her grandfather, Jaramogi, largely described as the father of opposition politics in Kenya.
“As you know Rosemary was sick but we thank God she has now recovered fully. She is a true Odinga and a fighter. This is evident in the spirit she has fought this illness with,” Oburu said at the anniversary ceremony in Kisumu.
Ida Odinga on Rosemary's healing
Raila’s wife, Ida, reiterated the family’s appreciation for the prayers from Kenyans that helped heal their daughter.
“Last year, we missed this annual church service because it was that day that Rosemary underwent a major surgery in China. But it is through your (congregants) prayers that she was healed,” Ida said.
The brain tumour treatment saw the younger Odinga lose her sight although her sight appears to have adjusted impressively to her condition.
During the Jaramogi anniversary, footage captured her scrolling her phone, taking notes, and easily made her way around the church with little assistance from some of her relatives.
