Mutoko blasted a section of Kenyans who had complained that their children were likely to be negatively influenced by the musician’s antics.
She added that Akothee’s target market was not children but adults who pay to attend her shows.
Bad role model
“This who saga of ‘oh my gosh she is going to be a bad role model to my children!’ First of all, who are your children that they listen to Akothee? You really need to check yourself? A few musicians have said this – it is not their job to raise their children.”
"It is not Akothee’s job to be a role model to your children. If you do not like what she does, do what our mothers did, point her out and tell them ‘huyu anafanya bad manners’, ‘that is not a woman I want you to be. But don’t force it on her,” she said in her video column.
The former Kiss FM presenter lauded Akothee’s brand personality, especially on Instagram, noting that although she does not listen to the singer’s music, she enjoyed following the channel as most Kenyans do.
