Amb. Godec posted a tweet congratulating his successor Kyle McCarter on his confirmation.
The post went on to convey the envoy's appreciation for the opportunity to have served his tenure in the country.
"Congratulations Kyle McCarter on your confirmation by the U.S. Senate as the next U.S. Ambassador to Kenya!
"It's been an honor & privilege to serve here for six years. Lori & I will forever cherish our friendships & memories of this beautiful country & its extraordinary people," Godec's post read.
Kabogo replied to the post with: "Most humble American Ambassador to Kenya. We will miss you Bob."

Kabogo's sentiment was among a handful of positive farewell messages shared with the outgoing ambassador.
@JMachayo tweeted, "I have to celebrated your departure! It was long overdue, good riddance!"
