The Prosecutor, Idoko James, told the court that the accused committed the offence in January  at Iragbiji area of  Osun.

James said that Tiamiyu conspired with two other  persons still at large to fraudulently  collect  N2.1 million from one Mr Saka Oyedeji.

He said the accused promised to sell seven hectares of land to him, knowing this to be  false.

“She forged her name by bearing another name contrary to her real name,” he said.

The prosecutor added that the accused maliciously damaged the corner piece of land belonging to the complainant.

He said the offences  contravened sections 516, 419, 467, 484, 451  and 383(1)  and punishable under section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11,  Laws of Osun,2003.

The accused, however,  pleaded not guilty to the  charges preferred against her.

The defence counsel, Mr Najite Okobie, prayed the magistrate to grant the accused bail in  the most liberal terms.

The Magistrate, Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade, granted the accused bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties in  like sum.

Sodamade said the sureties must reside within the court’s  jurisdiction  and present  evidence of tax payment as well as  two passport photographs  attached with an affidavit of means.

The case was adjourned till  June  6 for mention.
