Teacher seeks divorce over alleged verbal abuse

A teacher has dragged her husband to court, seeking divorce over verbal abuse and his irresponsibility.

Divorce

The petitioner, who resides at Jumoke Shodero Close, off Grammar School, in Ikorodu, also accused her husband of constantly beating her, stubbornness and lack of care.

“My husband causes me emotional pain; he says so many things that ordinarily a responsible man would not say to his wife.

“He is adamant to any positive ideas. I am so fed up that I do not think I can continue with this marriage,” she said told the court.

In his response, her husband, Ademola, denied all his wife’s accusations, but he, however, begged for reconciliation.

The Court president, Mrs Abiola Omolara, after hearing from both parties, adjourned the case till March 10, for possible reconciliation.

She also ordered both parties to bring two family members each to court on the next adjourned date.
