Matatu crews are always on the news but rarely do they make news for something positive.

Photos of Matatu crews belonging to different SACCOs have gone viral online and have elicited heartfelt emotions.

The photos show matatu drivers and touts on their knees supplicating their heavenly Father in prayer.

The crews in the Matatu have been identified to be in Nanyuki and apparently engage in morning prayer every day before they commence their work.

Given the impatience and rowdiness of many matatu crews especially in the rush hours of morning, the idea of all of them praying has appealed to many commuters who wish the same act to be replicated across all Public Service Saccos.

Interesting comparisons have been drawn with the crews in Nairobi especially the Thika Road, Jogoo Road and Ongata Rongai routes.

Most crews in these routes are notoriously rude and the matatus are scenes of havoc and crime.

Such crews are usually accused of hiking fare at will, harassing passengers especially ladies, colluding with criminals and recently drugging unsuspecting passengers.

How that can happen and whether it can really help curb the menace of matatu crews is a different story. For now, here are the people being celebrated by the online community for their act of worship before work.
