A Minna Magistrates Court has remanded a 40-year-old farmer in jail over charges of abduction and witchcraft for ritual purposes.

Witchcraft potions and spells

Musa was reportedly arraigned in court on a two-count charge of abduction and witchcraft for ritual purposes, offences which are reportedly contrary to section 273 and 216 of the penal code.

The court heard that one Hussaini Bawa of Tatiko village in Paikoro Local Government Area‎ reported the matter at the police station on March 16.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Danladi told the court of how Bawa alleged that the accused abducted his 13-year-old son and took him to a forest along Paiko road with plans of using his manhood for money ritual.

Danladi said that the accused was arrested by a team of police with the victim in his custody

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against me.

The prosecutor prayed the court for an adjournment which would allow the police to complete it's investigation into the matter.

Danladi also refused bail for the accused, arguing that the offenses were not bailable ordinarily.

In her ruling, Magistrate‎ Aisha Bawa ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison before adjourning the case to April 20 for further mention.
