He recited the Franciscan prayer for peace at the Capitol, Washington DC.
Bro Tabichi shared his joy after he was welcomed to the Congress to say the prayer.
“It was a great privilege and honour to open the US Congress with the Franciscan prayer for peace at the Capitol. What a great day! God bless us all,” he tweeted.
Tabichi, who was voted the world's best teacher in March, won the 2019 Global Teacher Prize that came with a Ksh100 million reward.
Meeting Trump
He was also appointed an ambassador for children in conflicts and crisis areas by Varky Foundation.
On Sunday, brother Tabichi met US President Donald Trump where he shared about the challenges teachers face and about the profession.
"I shared my humble views with the president on the importance of backing science and education in Africa," brother Tabichi stated.
“He looked so much at ease. We talked, laughed and took several pictures. I appreciated his support on education and technology more so partnerships that have boosted education in African countries,” he added.
