Unknown people on Sunday cleared overgrown weeds, repaired the fence and painted the house that was rejected by the mother to Dennis Ngaruiya as a gift from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Reports indicated that some young men were spotted making repairs to the house which had broken window panes as they cleared the small bush that had grown around the building.
Damaris Wambui Kamau had rejected the house and stated that it was an embarrassing gift from the President.
“This is a big joke. Look at this house.
“It has cracks on the outside and looks like a semi-permanent house while President Kenyatta in his wisdom meant well for us as a family,” stated Kamau.
The house was a gesture from Kenyatta after a hilarious poem presentation by Ngaruiya at Lanet in Nakuru when the president had visited the Lanet barracks.
Uhuru's team contradicts Kamau's claims
The claims by Kamau had however been contradicted by Kenyatta’s team insisting that everything was taken care off.
Kanze Dena who is the Head of Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) Kanze Dena insisted that the building erected was well equipped.
“From the information I am gathering, the house was built and it is furnished but the lady claims the house was made of waste papers.
“I don’t understand what she meant by that,” remarked Dena.
Dena had further insisted that Kamau had the real reason why no one had moved into it.
