Kenneth Mutuma, who appears on the popular KTN sitcom, Real Housewives of Kawangware, had his leg amputated after police shot him while pursuing robbers.
According to his colleagues, Mutuma was doing some work for Royal Media Services in Ruiru after which he boarded a matatu heading towards Nairobi CBD.
Unknown to him, police officers had been following the vehicle he boarded after it was suspected of ferrying armed gangsters.
On reaching Roysambu, officers suspected to be from the flying squad fired at the matatu and wounded Mutuma in the leg.
The actor was later rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital where he was taken to surgery. Police officers later visited him and handcuffed him on his hospital bed.
“It is really painful that after his surgery, he can barely move, we feed him and move him if he need to e moved but the cops came on Wednesday night and handcuffed him to is bed. They are doing this because the story went viral on social media and he had many visitors since then," Mutuma’s cousin, Faith Nkatha, narrated.
The Meru Arts and Talents Association has now demanded for Mutuma’s release and threatened to hold demonstrations if their colleague is not set free with immediate effect.
