One of NASA’s strategists, who is also the speaker of the Kisumu County Assembly Onyango Oloo, revealed that the Opposition coalition would push for the Chief Justice and his deputy to form a caretaker government if the repeat elections are not held within the October 31st deadline.
Oloo indicated that the current political climate suggested that it was unlikely that the repeat polls would be held before end of October due to the challenges facing the IEBC.
“As NASA, we are not going to take part in an election whose outcome is pre-determined. Let the Jubilee leadership not threaten Kenyans that there will be a constitutional crisis,”
“Every constitutional crisis has a constitutional cure. We shall use extra-constitutional measures to preserve the state and precisely, that Chief Justice David Maraga and his deputy be sworn in after the term of the current President expired. They will form a caretaker government and oversee an election until a proper election is conducted,” Oloo stated.
The Kisumu county Assembly speaker, who previously served as ranking official in the Jubilee coalition, further called on religious leaders to speak out against what he termed as the Jubilee government’s attempt to impose itself on Kenyans.
