Kenyan football giants hit with a huge fine after causing chaos
The Disciplinary Committee also accused Ingwe for hiding the Spectator who started the chaos
The Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) has ordered AFC Leopards to pay Sh150,000 fine.
Ingwe who failed to name a specific spectator who started trouble in their game against Kakamega Homeboyz on April 18 at the Mumias Sports Complex.
Apart from the Huge fine of Sh150, 000, the IDCC has also ordered Ingwe pay the referee Stephen Oduar Sh25,000 for suffering in the clash and Sh2000 for his medical expenditure.
The Disciplinary Committee also accused Ingwe for hiding the Spectator who caused trouble in the match, yet they know the outcome of chaos in football matches.
“As we have observed, the Respondent (AFC Leoprads) knows the perpetrator of the incident in question but refuses to give him up despite what he did. The Respondent is not remorseful and appears keen on helping the person get away with what is in fact a criminal offence,” read part of the IDCC statement.
This is not the first time that Ingwe are being found on the wrong side of the law, as last year they even lost their sponsors after their fans caused chaos.
Gor Mahia are also not new to football chaos as their fans always storm into the field when they are defeated.
AFC Leopards are currently in the Fifth position in the standings of the Kenya Premier League and they will be looking forward to redeem themselves against Thika in their upcoming game.
