The race for the first spot in the Kenya Premier League is gathering momentum despite most of the teams featuring in five matches only while others have not played at all.
Wazito who had withdrawn from the competition after the KPL fixtures had been announced have managed to play one match from which they have collected a point.
Tusker are the flagbearers at the moment with 15 points having played 5 matches. The breweries are the defending champions of the KPL.
The top three teams have created a gap of two points each and this will even get tougher when other matches unfold. This has signified that nearly all the teams had a good pre-season break.
Gor Mahia is not badly of since the club has gathered 10 points in four games. Gor is fielding youngsters at the moment after the club was banned from making transfers by FIFA after breaching sporting rules.
Mathare United and Vihig Bullets FC are the only clubs that are yet to register a point after making appearances in the 2022/23 KPL campaign.
AFC Leopards are still living in the shadows of their glory days they are currently 9th on the table after registering one win, two losses, and two draws.
Kenya Police are stuck in the rut after collecting two points in four matches played. They have lost two and drawn two.
