Harambee Stars Striker Michael Ogada Olunga has signed a new deal with Japanese Football Club Kashiwa Reysol that will see him earn Sh15 million a month.

On Friday, Olunga who used to play for Chinese side Guizou Zhicheng shared the news of joining the Japanese League after signing his  new contract on Thursday.

Its reported that J-League side Reysol paid about Sh300 million to top tier Chinese side Guizou Zhicheng in exchange for Olunga’s services.

“New Roads, New Rivers, New Chapter. Beginning of another unfolded history,” shared Olunga on his Instagram page.

The former Gor Mahia player becomes the first Kenyan footballer to play professionally in Japan.

Olunga’s new salary now features him on the list of Kenyan footballers who are highly paid. Tottenham Hotspurs Victor Wanyama takes home Sh22 million every month.

Laliga

In January, Olunga made history after becoming the first Kenyan footballer to score a hat-trick in Laliga.

The towering striker who made a deadline day switch from Chinese Super League club Guizhou Zhicheng on loan and introduced in the final 10 minutes at Estadi Municipal de Montilivi, become the second Kenyan player to feature in La Liga after McDonald Mariga Wanyama.

Olunga made a deadline day switch from Chinese Super League club Guizhou Zhicheng to join Girona FC on loan.

After joining the Spanish Club, he became the first striker in the Club to score a hat-trick, aiding his team to secure victory.
