Southampton delegation in Kenya
The camp organized by SportPesa in conjunction with English Premiere league side Southampton is set to kick off on April 24 to April 28 at Kenya School of Monetary Studies.
The Southampton Academy Training delegation to Kenya is led by Daniel Maye, the Lead Youth Development Phase Coach accompanied by Daniel Wright (Youth Development Phase Coach), Simon James Locke (Academy Goalkeeping Coach) and Andrew Martino (Football Development Manager – Global).
The high level football training has brought together youths from different parts of the Country who will be part of the development Camp.
According to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) a total of 30 have been handed the opportunity to take part in the camp and experience at teste of the English Premier League training.
The 30 players who are at the developmet camp are from aa number of schools and clubs including Kakamega High School, Passenga, Kisumu Day, Laiser Hill, Jamhuri High School, Butere Boys, Isiolo High, Riruta Satellite.
The schools that have produced the players in the camp are forces to reckon in their performances in the Kenya Secondary Association games that conclude recently.
According to Elizabeth Muragu the assistant Marketing manager at SportPesa they believe that the youngsters will benefit a lot from the camp.
“We are excited to welcome the Southampton coaches and it is our belief that the selected youngsters will benefit immensely from the training camp and subsequent programmes SportPesa has in store in developing young football talent,” said Elizabeth Muragu, the Assistant Marketing Manager, Events and Sponsorships at SportPesa.
