We are not coming back -SuperSport

"The blackout is here to stay"

SuperSport employees

According to FKF Chief Executive Officer Robert Muthomi SuperSport have given a response to their effort of trying to lure them back to the Kenyan Premier League.

“Yes, we got a response from SuperSport and the long and short story of it is that they are not coming back,’’ said Robert Muthomi.

Kenya Premier league CEO Jack Oguda said it is not the end of the road of the Kenyan football as they are looking forward to get new broadcaster of the league.

“It’s an unfortunate event for Kenyan football but that doesn’t mark the end of football in our country. In the late 2000s, we didn’t have a broadcast sponsor but we still played football. For us, it’s a big challenge but what we are working on is to try and value the product properly to get more partners on board.’’ Said Oguda.

However, Oguda has said their main focus is to see KPL is back on TV with a good deal from their next partner.

This will result to a joint Executive Committee meeting (KPL/FKF) to discuss the way forward for Kenyan football.

FKF under the leadership of Nick Mwendwa had vowed to bring back SuperSport who pulled out the Kenyan Football unceremoniously.

On the other hand, the former FKF President Sam Nyamweya also wrote to SuperSport asking them to bring back their services back, but now all is in vain.

There has been links of Kwese Sports and StarTimes taking up as the task as KPL new the broadcasters.

SuperSport has now confirmed the words the Cabinet Secretary for Sports Hasssan Wario who had ruled out their possibility of returning to Kenya.
