Yvonne Wamalwa passed away in Nanyuki, according to family sources.
Yvonne was married to Kenya's 8th Vice President at an English-themed wedding in 2003.

After her husband's death, Wamalwa's widow kept a low profile and made a short stint as a diplomat.
Under President Mwai Kibaki, Yvonne served as a one-time Deputy Permanent Representative of Kenya to Habitat, Deputy High Commissioner to Australia and Deputy Director, Parliamentary and County Government Directorate.
