Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i had earlier announced that KCSE would be held between October 23rd and November 29 while KCPE between November 1st and 3rd.

However, NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga had expressed his desire for the exams to be postponed by two weeks to allow enough preparation for the fresh election.

At the same time, President Uhuru Kenyatta maintained that the exams would be held on the announced date by Matiang'i.

“Kenyans children are important to us. They will do their exams without the interference of politics. They will join the secondary school and go to college on schedule. We will not let anyone undermine our children,” Kenyatta stated.
