MP Alice Wahome in trouble after DPP Tobiko's order to IG Boinnet

The MP was caught on camera assaulting an IEBC Returning Officer.

Tobiko has called for the IG to investigate Wahome with the aim of charging her for assaulting an IEBC Returning Officer.

The Kandara MP was caught on Camera harassing the Constituency Returning Officer Mr. Martin Malonza at Ng’araria Girls Secondary School, demanding to sign Form 34B as Jubilee Party’s chief agent in the area.

According to the IEBC official, however, he had waited for a long time for Ms Wahome to come and append her signature on the result declaration form, as required by the constitution, but the MP was nowhere to be found.

Malonza said that all efforts to reach the lawmaker including calling her cell phone were futile, leaving him with no alternative but to plead with other Jubilee party agents to sign on her behalf, who insisted that was not possible.

“When the MP did not arrive after waiting for more than three hours, I decided to indicate on the form that the party agent was nowhere to be found. This is because I had to deliver the form at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi on time,” said Malonza.

Malonza said the MP roughed him up and blocked him from leaving just a few meters from the center.

However, when contacted, the legislator denied there was commotion, saying she merely wanted to verify the results of Jubilee's candidate Uhuru Kenyatta.

Already, the IEBC has called for Wahome to be prosecuted for committing an electoral offence and intimidation of election officials.
