The blogs had also reported that the new CEO was taking over after the former CEO was fired.
A spot-check by Pulselive.co.ke, however, found rather dumbfounding revelations. The photo of the alleged Ms Cuba was fake and belonged to a Ms Lucy Quist, who previously served at Airtel Ghana.
A further follow up with sources inside the telecommunications company established that the giant company had already signed a two-year contract with Collymore, guaranteeing him his position until 2019.
Coincidentally, the news was released in a coordinated manner and widely shared by two bloggers who are currently facing a myriad of criminal and defamation suits.
The motive of the two bloggers, in targeting a man who is seeking medical treatment, remains unclear.
