NYS suspects to be released

DPP suffers setback

The High Court has finally granted bail to some of the high profile suspects who have been charged in connection with the Sh9 billion NYS scandal.

The suspects have further been directed to deposit their travel documents with the courts before being released.

Public Service PS Lillian Omollo, NYS director Ndubai and Ngirita family members were each granted Sh1million cash bail with the option of Sh5 million bond or a Sh2million surety.

Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti had initially ruled that the suspects should remain in custody for the entire duration of the trial, saying corruption suspects did not deserve the right of access to bail.
