Jubilee's new plan after Raila angered NASA leaders

Many MPs from NASA have been angered by the recent line-up of the House leadership.

Many MPs from within the coalition have been angered by the Odinga line-up of the NASA House leadership members unveiled earlier this week.

In the list, Suba South John Mbadi (ODM) was been appointed as Minority Leader with Suna East MP Junet Mohammed (ODM) proposed as the Minority Whip.

However, it is the appointment of Mohammed that has caused resentment by some leaders including those from the Coast region who feel sidelined in the new line-up as they termed the Minority Whip position as rightfully theirs.

The powerful position had previously been held by former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro and Wundanyi MP Ludidi Mwadeghu both from the Coast.

And now it seems the Jubilee Party appears to cash in on the current disunity by toying with the idea of accommodating the disgruntled MPs into their fold.

According to the National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Jubilee is now aiming at reaching out to all leaders in a bid to unite and reconcile the country after the divisive electioneering period that dragged on for over five months.

“Jubilee Party will reach out to like-minded leaders across the country, Nasa being one of them, to unite the country after the deeply divisive elections,” Duale told The Nation.

ANC DISGRUNTLED

Another disgruntled lot within NASA appears to be the Amani National Congress led by Musalia Mudavadi whose internal wrangling has played out in public in the past few days.

According to Amani National Congress (ANC) national chairman Kelvin Lunani, Jubilee is using the party's former secretary general Godfrey Osotsi to destabilise them to ensure that Mudavadi does not stand a chance for a higher office in 2022.

Osotsi was replaced as ANC secretary general by political analyst Barrack Muluka.

However, Muluka's appointment has been challenged at the Registrar of Political Parties by eight ANC members who are alleged to be close to Osotsi.

However Duale said President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee only aim at uniting the country.

“The President will initiate talks to build a cohesive nation and reconcile differences that have been there, ensure national stability and pave the way for Jubilee to plan for 2022,” Duale reiterated.
