Dozens of Mau Mau War Veterans Association members from Machakos County are pushing Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to abandon ODM’s Raila Odinga and instead back President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The elders, who have claimed that Mr Musyoka is being misused by the former Prime Minister, now want him (Kalonzo) to join Jubilee, as a move to hoodwink the Jubilee administration for water projects in Ukambani.
In a joint statement issued on Wednesday and read by Mwala Sub-County Chairman Johnstone Kiiti in Mwala town, the elders said that Kalonzo should reconsider his stay in the opposition.

“We love our son Kalonzo but we want him to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Initially he was doing well politically but we do not understand what went wrong,” Mr Kiiti said.
Mutua dominance
The new demand by Machakos leaders come few days after several politicians in the area switched allegiance from the Wiper leader to Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, over what was termed as cowardice move to snub the swearing-in ceremony on January 30 at Uhuru Park.
The 84-year-old Kiiti threatened to curse ex-Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and Kalonzo should the latter take oath as Deputy People’s president. Both Muthama and Kalonzo avoided the swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park.
They castigated Raila Odinga as a man whose political agenda was pegged on selfishness and would lead the country to the dogs.
The senior citizens appealed to President Kenyatta to invite them to State House where they would shower him with blessings as he embarks on the second and last term in office.
