Miguna Miguna’s family have spoken after he was deported to Dubai despite a court directive that he be freed.
The family is troubled and distressed following reports that Miguna was given a beating, drugged and forced onto a plane.
Miguna’s older brother Erick Ondiek Miguna stated that the family is living in fear. He went ahead to appeal to the international community to come in and help Miguna.
The self-proclaimed NRM general has been deported twice and treated unfairly by the state after he took part in the controversial swearing in of Raila Odinga as people’s president.

Miguna was first deported to Canada after being locked up for days. After his return, he was denied access of the country and locked up in a toilet in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport before being deported again.
On 27 March 2018, the lawyer’s arm was left incapacitated after a failed botched attempt to have him deported to Dubai.
He was then drugged only to find himself on a flight to Dubai. A plan to have him flown to London failed after he complained he was feeling unwell and needed medication.
Ondiek revealed that Miguna is a family man and stated that they are being treated as though they are second-class citizens.
He said, ““We are devastated. We cannot sleep or eat. We are being treated like second-class citizens. We don’t know what will happen next. We are preparing ourselves for the worst,” said Mr Ondiek.
