The Only way Uhuru will stop my swearing-in – Raila reveals

No going back unless you do this Uhuru

The former Prime Minister is set to be sworn-in as the People’s President after refusing to recognize Mr. Kenyatta as the Head of State.

During a meeting with US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec, German Ambassador Jutta Frasch, and British High Commissioner Nic Hailey, NASA leaders demanded the President to personally call Mr. Odinga for a private meeting.

Speaking in the meeting held at Capitol Hill, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi divulged that Mr. Kenyatta must reach out to Odinga before other leaders from both sides can take part in follow up negotiations.

Mr. Mudavadi, who was the spokesperson during the talks, noted that the police must also admit to have killed NASA supporters adding that Kenyatta should apologise to Kenyans for the extra judicial killings.

“We also demanded that Kenyatta comes out and publicly apologises to Kenyans over the extra judicial killings by the police and also denounce their conduct,” a report by the Standard quoted a source at the meeting as saying.

The Opposition team told the foreign envoy that they were not looking to form a coalition Government with MR Kenyatta but rather solve electoral justice issues among others.

“We demanded that any meeting must be centered on electoral justice for meaningful negotiations to take place between Jubilee and NASA,” Mudavadi said.

Other NASA members who were present at the meeting included Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyoka who represented Moses Wetangula and Governor Kivutha Kibwana who appeared for Kalonzo Musyoka.

Mr. Kibwana warned the envoy against lecturing NASA and called for equal respect for NASA and Jubilee leaders.

This comes a day after Mr. Odinga told off the US for demanding he cancels his swearing-in ceremony.

The NASA team maintained that they were ready and open for talks with President Kenyatta.
