In a press statement sent to newsrooms minutes after a nearly two-hour closed door meeting, the two leaders settled on Ambassador Martin Kimani and lawyer Paul Mwangi (a close ally Of Mr Odinga) to lead the office, which will oversee the program.
“President Uhuru and Raila Odinga have agreed to roll out a program that will implement their shared objectives.”

“The program shall establish an office and retain a retinue of advisors to assist ion the implementation. An official launch shall be held soon,” the statement seen by Pulse Live Kenya reads in part.
The two have said in a joint statement that the roll out, or rather launching of the common office will be done soon, to commence the work.
Human Rights
A spot check by Pulselive Kenya in the eight-page statement shows that the duo, who met for the first time since the twin elections, have agreed to uphold and respect human rights in the country.

The call comes a time the Human Rights Watch recently released a reporting implying that the Kenyan Police used excessive force to kill innocent Kenyans at the height of the two elections.
“Kenyans must have their human and civil rights respected and enforced. There is no Kenyan whose rights should be compromised no matter the interests against them,” the eight-page statement added.
On the contrary, Mr Odinga seemingly dropped his quest for a push to have fresh elections in August this year, in what he termed as the only way to have a legitimate government as Uhuru’s legitimacy was in doubt.
The two leaders have also vowed to unite and fight corruption through the office, adding that Kenya has lost billions to the pockets of individuals.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga will stand together to ensure that political affiliations shall not be used to shield those who are found to be corrupt,” it said.
