Brian Kasaine who works for Nation Media Group’s KenyaBuzz, has opened up on the sleepless nights he has had to endure following the bizarre murder of Monica Kimani that has so far seen the arrest of TV star Jacque Maribe, Brian Kassaine and Joseph Jowie Irungu.
Sharing a name Maribe’s neighbor Brian Kassaine whose gun was used in the shooting of Irungu has turned the 24 year old Nation employee’s life upside down.
Kasaine (whose name bears a single S unlike the suspect’s) opened up to Sunday nation revealing that similarity in names with the suspect opened a floodgate of incessant calls, anxiety, sleepless nights and toxic cyberbullying.
Posts began circulating on social media bearing his photo and linking him to the murder that has made headlines for weeks.
He disclosed that on Wednesday, he presented himself to the DCI in a bid to put to rest the posts circulating on social media linking him to the high-profile murder case.
News about the arrest of Kassaine spread like bushfire with the nation journalist receiving one call after another from relatives and friends keen on establishing whether he was the suspect in question.
Kasaine who is also a motivational speaker divulged that some of his events have been cancelled owing to the bad publicity emanating from the Monica Kimani murder.
A motivational talk planned for Saturday in Narok was cancelled at the eleventh hour after the hotel cancelled the booking and refunded the money.
Kasaine divulged that “One of the reasons the owner gave was that he doesn’t want his hotel associated with Brian Kassaine”.
