Safaricom have confirmed the development via an official tweet after an unveiling event held on Tuesday in Nairobi.
The Harambee Stars captain, who was instrumental for his English club Tottenham Hotspur in season 2016/2017, has also confirmed the deal in a tweet.
The move could be the start of the return of Safaricom to football sponsorship after leaving the industry over ‘Sakata Ball’ failure.
