Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has stated that the government is not aware of any officers or soldiers trailing ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Wednesday, Boinnet noted that they were working to establish whether there were people purporting to be officers following Odinga.
"If there are individuals purporting to be police officers and trailing him in the campaigns, I don't know, but we will investigate," Boinnet said.
On Tuesday, Siaya Senator James Orengo claimed that eight KDF soldiers had been following the former Prime Minister adding that his life was in danger.
"These officers are using police vehicles with non-GK number plates that also keep being changed. The eight were relocated to Kiambu on an unspecified mission. "
"Prior to the release of the eight officers, a number of trainees had from time to time shadowed and trailed Raila and other co-principals in their daily political activities," Orengo stated.
