Kidero's unexpected message to competing Sonko, Kenneth

Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero is among the top Orange Democratic Movement aspirants set for a direct nomination later today.

Kidero will today receive his nomination papers for the Nairobi gubernatorial race unopposed in preparation for the August polls.

Kidero, will be facing the Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party, which is yet to pick a candidate between Mike Mbuvi Sonko (Nairobi senator) and Peter Kenneth (former Gatanga MP).

According to the party’s communication team, the National Elections Board is now focused on the party primaries set to begin on Friday week.

“There are some aspirants who do not have opponents. Such aspirants will not be subjected to nominations hence qualifying for automatic nomination to vie for the seats applied for,” stated ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale.

“It is with this background that the NEB has elected Monday the 3rd of April as the day for the presentation of nomination certificates to unopposed aspirants,” Etale said.

The fete will be held at the Bomas of Kenya.
