Amina Abdi, Xtiandela, Nice Nailantei named among 2018s most influential young Africans

Congratulations!

The 100 most influential young Africans have been announced and six Kenyans managed to secure a spot on the list.

Amina Abdi Rabar, Nice Nailantei, Xtiandela, Sandra Ochola, Scheaffer Okore and Raphael Obonyo were all recognized for contributions in their respective genres of work.

The list, which has been released since it’s launch in 2016, seeks to highlight the work of “young politicians, activists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, digital influencers, philanthropist and athletes across Africa who are promoting the positive image of Africa across the globe”.

Speaking on this year’s list, Founding President of Africa Youth Awards Prince Akpah, encouraged “young Africans to emulate the foosteps of the listed individuals and join them in making Africa a better and safer place for young dreamers”.

Uganda’s Bobi Wine, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Nigeria’s Davido and Tanzania’s Ali Kiba are some notable honorees on the list.

Nigeria lead the list with a whooping 20 honorees, being followed closely by South Africa that had 17 honorees, Ghana had 12 honorees and Tanzania had 8.

These are the categories that the Kenyan Honorees were recognized in:

Amina Abdi-Rabar – Media category

Nice Nailantei Leng’ete – Social enterprise and Phil. Category

Xtiandela – Lifestyle category

Sandra Ochola – Personal development and academia category

Scheaffer Okore – Law and Governance category.

Raphael Obonyo – Personal development and academia category

Congratulations to all the honorees of the 2018 most influential young Africans and a special big up to all the Kenyans on the list for putting Kenya on the map.
