This comes a few weeks after the club was shut down indefinitely due to complaints from those living around it. Most residential areas around Kilimani, Milimani and Langata have been complaining of noise pollution at night forcing the clubs located at these areas to be shut down.
Unluckily for many, the police arrested dozens of revelers during the major raid at the local nightclubs. The bust at the nightclub is just part of the city’s ongoing crackdown to help minimize noise pollution at the same time ensure law and order in Nairobi area is restored.
The Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero shared a few photos taken during the raid and captioned them to say,
This evening @county_nairobi Enforcement team shut down several noisy pubs and clubs operating in residential areas around Kilimani, Milimani and Lang'ata areas. Law and order must be restored @county_nairobi.
About a year ago the Nairobi governor declared war on clubs and bars in Nairobi that operate for 24 hours. He issued an order to shut down club 1824 which was said to be operating for 24hrs. At the moment we are not sure whether it was among the late night clubs shut down last night.
