The United Nations (UN) has turned down NASA presidential candidate Raila Odingas request to review the August 8 Election.
On Monday, UN spokesman Farhan Haq encouraged Odinga to address Election grievances to “the relevant constitutionally mandated institutions.”Mr Haq was seemingly telling Odinga to file a petition at the Supreme Court. The UN added that they would be monitoring and waiting for Odinga's announcement on Wednesday. However, Siaya Senator James Orengo, who is leading the NASA legal team, announced that the Opposition would not move to courts this time "Going to court is not an alternative, we have been there before," Orengo affirmed.NASA's claims of rigging in the concluded Elections have been made difficult after international observers termed the exercises as credible.Led by John Kerry, the observers said that they did not witness any dead voters participate in last week's Elections.
However, the former Prime Minister expressed his anger with John Kerry and other observers for the work they did.According to Odinga, the observers never focused on the transmission of results, which made it difficult for them to spot the irregularities.
