An impressive youthful Hull City side beat Sportpesa All Stars 2-1in a historic friendly match played at a rain-soaked KCOM Stadium in the United Kingdom before a sizable crowd of 8,000 fans.

The match was stopped for almost 10 minutes after a nasty clash of heads between Western Stima defender Wesley Onguso and 16-year-old Max Sheaf.

The teenager was later rushed to hospital reminiscent of the horrific scenes earlier this month when Hull City’s captain, Ryan Mason was rushed to hospital following a head concussion suffered during a match against Chelsea in Stamford Bridge.

Sheaf’s substitute Elliot Holmes made an instant impact and headed in the game’s first goal past Sportpesa All Stars keeper Patrick Matasi following a cross from Stephen Akbas giving them a one-nil lead going into the break.

The All Stars coached by Harambee Stars’ Stanley Okumbi started brightly in the second half and threatened on several occasions from set pieces.

However, it was an own goal from Harun Shakava at the other end of the field that resulted in the Tigers doubling their lead in the 66th minute.

Hinchliffe was sent racing away down the left and when he crossed low to the near post, defender Shakava could only divert the ball into his own net.

Hull legend Dean Windass was given a warm welcome when he was introduced to the action 13 minutes from time and he sent a free kick just wide from 25 yards soon after coming on.
