Six people have been confirmed dead while nine others have been seriously injured during an early morning accident along the Meru- Mikinduri road.
The accident occurred after a Toyota Hilux pick-up collided with a Toyota Probox at Giaki junction.
Witnesses said the pick-up, which was heading towards Meru, attempted to overtake a lorry but collided head-on with the probox that was coming from the opposite direction.
The probox was highly overloaded as it was carrying 13 passengers, six of them including the driver died.

The seven who sustained injuries were rushed to Meru Level Five hospital together with the two people who were in the Toyota Hilux.
