AFC Leopards have tabled an offer to Nakumatt striker Kepha Aswani.

Team manager Tony Lidonde has confirmed to P Live that they are keen on re-signing the striker, who left the Den to the Shoppers in January.

“We are experiencing some challenges with our striking department and we have to beef it up in good time. That’s why we have approached Aswani (Kepha) and we expect to seal the deal as soon as possible.”

When contacted for a confirmation of the former Thika United striker’s exit, Nakumatt secretary Albert Wesonga expressed shock in the news, insisting that Aswani is still their player and that no such information has reached the club from AFC Leopards or from the player himself.

“We have not engaged AFC Leopards in such a move and Aswani is still our player. In fact, I don’t think we can let him go at this critical time. We are also in the league to compete and we need the likes of Aswani in our striking force."

AFC Leopards have so far completed the signing of one striker in Alexis Kitenge from Burundi. They also have midfield duo of Musa Mudde and Keziron Kizito in their new-players list.
