Gor Mahia stand-in coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno is sorry for starting his temporary reign on a low note following the exit of Ze Maria at the club.

Fresh from SportPesa Super Cup championship, K’Ogalo faced Sofapaka at Kinoru Stadium with the aim of continuing with the good form only to suffer a 2-0 humiliating defeat which saw them relinquish their top position in the league to defending champions Tusker.

‘Zico’ now says that it was unfortunate to lose the match but quickly shifts focus to their next game against Ulinzi Stars.

“This is not the result we wanted, but it is what we got (lost 2-0 to Sofapaka). It is unfortunate that we have begun the second phase on such a bad note, but we cannot dwell on it. We have to quickly focus on our next game having picked lessons in Kinoru,” he told the league's official website.
